The difference between ultraviolet and green lasers

Aug 15 , 2024

There are some significant differences between UV and green lasers in principle and application. The ultraviolet laser mainly emits the ultraviolet light wavelength laser, but the green laser mainly emits the green light wavelength laser. The differences between the two lasers can be compared from the following aspects.

First, UV lasers typically have short wavelengths in the ultraviolet part of the visible spectrum, ranging from 200 to 400 nanometers. Green lasers, by contrast, have wavelengths in the green part of the visible spectrum, typically 532 nanometers. This wavelength difference means that the two lasers will differ in their physical properties and optical applications.

In practical applications, UV lasers are often used in photolithography, high-precision measurement and medical equipment and other fields. For example, in semiconductor manufacturing processes, UV lasers can be used to achieve micro-pattern photolithography, is widely used in the production of integrated circuits. UV laser can also be used in fluorescence spectrum analysis, photonics materials processing and scientific research and other fields.

Green lasers play an important role in areas such as laser displays and Laser rangefinder. Because the wavelength of green light is in the most sensitive region of the human eye, green laser has advantages in visual display. The green laser can be used for the laser projection of the display equipment, and can achieve a more vivid and clear image display effect. Green lasers are also widely used in Laser rangefinder, terrain measurements and radar velocimeters.
